In crucifixions, the Romans would break the person’s legs to make sure they were dead, but with Jesus, the centurions could tell he was already dead so they just poked him with a spear. The gospel says he was dead by the time this happened though. Still, the comic is very funny, even to a good christian like myself. A typical reaction anyone would make, even the son of god. he was human, don’t forget that!

According to the bible (as i recall), they were going to break Jesus’ legs so he wouldn’t be alive till the next day (which would mean they had to let him go), but it turned out he was already dead.
Personally however, i wouldn’t trust the bible on matters of history.
